Google Audio Ads - Listen here…

May 28th, 2007 Anthony

WebProNews mentioned today that Google signed an agreement with Clear Channel, which is the “largest radio station group owner in the U.S.”  [more info] This has been mentioned before, but I haven’t really payed a lot of attention to it.

I’ve been of the mind that Google Ads have mostly been effective because they’re so transparent and  streamlined with search results.  When I initially heard about Audio Ads, I figured there’d be little “Play Now” buttons in the SERPs instead of textual advertising.  I tuned the subject out of that, as I wasn’t interested.  Ooops.

The ability to push radio ads is actually really good.  Usually this can be very expensive.  With Google having reserved a “portion of guaranteed, premium 30-second advertising inventory on 675 Clear Channel AM  and FM stations”, I imagine they’ll be very cost-effective. The Rich Jerk (The Pretender)

May 23rd, 2007 Anthony

There’s this site, called The Rich Jerk.  (Link condom applied).  He sells an e-book, a guide to making money on the internet.  His sales pitch is basically: “Arrogant, Foul-Mouthed, Filthy Rich Jerk Breaks His 6 Year Silence On How He’s Made Millions On The Internet”

I’ve never liked this approach.  Too showy.  And I’ve never believed he’s as good as he says he is.  Its like the old saying, “Those who can’t do - teach.  (And those who can’t teach - lecture at university)”.

Now Shoemoney says this guy is selling his empire to avoid bankruptcy.  Ha!, I say.

The people who really make this much money on the net aren’t usually so keen to share their secrets.
